All Papua New Guinean children deserve a quality education that enables them to develop the skills necessary to realize their potential. And we look to the schools to provide what our children need to be successful in life.

This year has been a thriving year for Telikom Foundation Inc. as it strives to transform the lives of our children by providing clean internet online library to schools.

In 2012-13, the Foundation has covered fairly several schools in the country from the Southern region to the Islands, giving internet access to 22 schools through Telikom PNG’s network solutions. So far, more than 30,000 school children are having access to ‘Clean IT’ online internet learning.

The primary goal of this program is to improve student achievement through the use of technology through e-learning which is making an impact in schools in the growth of children’s learning.

Telikom Foundation this year directed its focus more on schools beyond city boundaries, yes; TFI has reached far and wide from the most remote highlands of Sandaun to the furthest island of Manus.

Partnership is vital for nation building and development, for this reason provincial governments of respective provinces have come on board this year to work hand-in-hand with Telikom Foundation to support its initiative.

TFI has rolled-out using TPNG’s VSAT solution, to hook up rural schools and it is surely a success story with rural Koroba Secondary in Hela Province access e-library. More than 700 students are now able to use the online library facility.

Located in the remotest part of Sandaun Province in Telefomin situated in the mountains. Telefomin High and Telefomin Primary schools were privileged enough to benefit from the online library service.

Present to launch the service was Minister for Communications, Joseph Miringtoro.

“On behalf of the Member for Koroba Lake Kopiago Hon. Philip Undialu and our ICT Team, I would like to thank you the Clean IT Team from Telikom Foundation Inc. for your hard work and effort that have been put together to provide this very efficient service to the people of Koroba Lake Kopiago especially the students of Koroba Secondary.

“Even though your team have experience difficulties travelling and doing installation in the bad weather condition I have witnessed, tested and certify the service and I must say that you have given us the best and steady V-sat link that you ever provided throughout the country.

With your service I know for sure Koroba students will enjoy the benefit of it by advancing their learning standards and I believe we will see the improvement in their academic results in the end of the school year,” Felix Leripo Levi- Executive Officer to Member for Koroba Lake Kopiago.
