TELIKOM Foundation in partnership with Datec PNG is keen on developing the strength in communications technology for schools and businesses in the country.

Telikom’s subsidiary company Datec PNG is proud to work together with the foundation and in partnering into the future. Datec and Telikom Foundation donated 20 computers to 14 selected schools in Goroka, Eastern Highlands Province recently. The donation of computers coincided with the official opening of the Datec shop located in the heart of Goroka Town.

Telikom Board Director Dr Kopamu who is also an Academic at the University of Goroka said there was a need for computers for schools in the centres and thanked Telikom Foundation and Datec for the purchase of the equipment to boost student and teacher learning.  

“With Datec coming on board to support the work of Telikom Foundation, I thank the management of Datec for partnering with Telikom to promote quality education in Goroka with the donation of computers,” Dr Kopamu added. 

Datec is keen on working with the foundation in rolling out its education programs in the future and will assist with ICT equipment and solutions to drive the Foundation’s Clean IT online program in schools throughout the country.

Lydia Joseph, a teacher at the Ufeto Christian Academy is thankful for the computer saying it was a timely gift for a private school like theirs with limited resources. “We are thankful to Telikom and Datec for choosing us one of the recipients.”
